Belt removal on a 1994 WH 314-8

Hello I bought a 1994 314-8 Toro Wheel Horse and I tried to remove the Mule belt from the PTO, unlike my 312-8 which pivots and swings down out of the way the 314-8 does not pivot the same way, so I guess I have to disconnect more parts?

Welcome to the forum, you should just need to remove the control rod and the pin on the outside of the PTO bell unless you have something different?

If your "U" clip is pinned to the PTO hoop, you will need to pull the hairpin clip at the bottom of the hoop and let the hoop drop down till the U clip clears the stub shaft. Then you should be able to swing the hoop to the rear and remove the belt.

@Granite Stater  your  pto  lever  start  area is a GOLD MINE  FOR  FUNCTIONAL  IMPROVEMENTS !  experimented on  one unit . my original  c-85 , then added it to  my other  2 Horses . most  interesting areas ?  movement  HAND OFF  POINTS ? how easy was it to do , that inspired me  to look at other areas , heim joint , replacement to sloppy  trundle , easy  3/8 x 24  die nut  rethread , right over  original 3/8x16 , oil lube enhanced , very easy , pto cone inner needle bearing ? lubrication failure ?  heat  baked grease , clean out , flush , carb cleaner , very  lightly  regrease with ?  lucas xtra hd green chassis grease , 550 deg flash point  , also  polyurea , anti sling , napa has the outer sealed bearing , makes for  effortless  engagement , walmart has the lucas grease , $  8, also use that  grease in all my , deck and mule drive bearings , never  burned out a clutch disc . easy , pete
