Some times you feel like a nut

Well guys I had to share this no Brainer monment with you all. :scratchead:

Been in our new house for 9 months now - & when building I decided to go with a Tankless gas water heater, also this is the first home that I had gas in.

Sooo... last Thur. morning my wife tells me in passing that

"We didn't have any hot water" <_<

We where leaving for NJ Friday morning for a wedding. So after running around Thur. getting things ready for our trip I went down to the basement to ck things out. The display panel didn't show any fault codes and showed the water temp setting liked it always did. Humm... Ok lets look for the service manual

for trouble shooting. After tearing the house apart ... no manual. :ychain:

Get up early Fri. morning and go on line and down load service manual .

Now for the little tid-bit of info that " makes me fill like a nut" :hide:

Last Wed. it was windy as hell out and I was putting stuff away for winter.

I had unhooked the grill ,put the cover on it and rolled it back in the cubby hole where the A/C unit and the intake & exh. vents are for the furnance & water heater.

Now back to the service manual-

At 5 am Fri. morning I'm pulling what little hair I have out trying to figure out what the problem is. I'm thinking its going to be at lease Tuesday till I can even call somebody out to look at this new fangel water heater. :ychain:

After reading the trouble shooting manual SEVERAL times ,I read " be sure intake & exh. vents are clear & open" :ychain:

Then the light comes on ... Duh ... :ychain:

Thur. when I was filling the dogs water bottle, I was looking out the window at the grill and seen the cover had blown off :o

So I stumble outside & sure as chit the grill cover had covered the vents.

After a day and half of freaking out that my new water heater took a chit,

Mother-nature kicked my arse B)

The moral of the story ... Thank goodness there was an open bar at the wedding... :ychain:
