Get out your torn up jeans,Brylcream  tight white T shirts,  and roll a pack of cigs into the sleeve................ No Wait! not that kind of Greaser Day. It's time to lube the fleet before the cold weather sets in. Dewalt gun works nice but it's also a pain to operate. ant to top it off, the Lock n Lube end failed. Came with a kit but the thing wouldn't come apart to repair it. So I has to get an old school gun end out. Got a leaky bucket cylinder on Elvis so got that ordered. 

 

Heard an engine running all afternoon. My retired engineer neighbor just got a new Westinghouse Genny from Amazon. The recoil was messed up so they sent him a new one. I had to wander over. His solar panels aren't charging his battery bank so he's charging it with the Genny. I mentioned $4.50 a gal gas and he could just plug the bank in to charge it He shrugged his shoulders and said "I know but I like it this way"

Next up for me is to drag out the Ariens SnoThro, change the oil & the friction disc. Pull the bucket apart to inspect / relube / replace the high speed sealed ball bearing. Look at why the NLA gearbox is leaking...

No fun doing all that when it is 20 degrees outside...

Mike that is nice set of tractors. I like Start/Gen  the most. They just made them simple but rugged.   That Economy will get the job done.

@ri702bill  whats the scoop on that sealed bearing ? nothing  available in a  wide  side seal  set up ?  made a regular  thing  of eliminating , repeditive  lubrication issues , my instant go to on any  lubrication , failure , is lucas  x tra hd  green chassis  grease , walmart  8 $ , wipe out  original lube , carb cleaner flush , hand pack , lucas . 550 deg  flash point , polyurea rated , anti sling , this , and functional detailing   makes a pto  set up , come to life, just curious , pete

It is a standard double sealed ball bearing that has miserable living conditions! Inaccessable behind the secondary impeller and gets wet constantly. I replaced it about 10 - 12 years ago... probably due for a new one.

Mike, did the economy tractor come with the loader or did you buy it separately? I've been looking for that whole set up (tractor and loader) for a couple of years now.

Loader was built by my welder buddy using mostly original Economy plans. I did the hydraulics.
