I made sure I put everything back together the way it was, and I was going to start it up and address the carb adjustments before getting into that, if that makes sense. One thing at a time. ri702bill 12,793 #4 Posted 13 hours ago There Is a procedure to reinstall the lever correctly on the governor shaft that must be done - properly - prior to starting the engine. It is covered in the Kohler manual. This prevents over-revving the engine on startup... did you note the link position in the set of holes on the arm & carb? It is always best to take a couple of phone pictures any time there are multiple possible settings. again, the manual should have linkage diagrams... 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yes I noted all the positions on video and used a paint pen on the shaft and connection of the thing on the exhaust side that I had to take off to install the exhaust. I guess that's the governor shaft? I then went thru my previous videos and took screenshots and had 6-8 print outs at the tractor while reinstalling. So I'm certain everything is in its same position. If you still think it needs this procedure I'll do it. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The other variable is the throttle cable sheath position in the clamp. it determines throttle lever action for full throttle & max rpm. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
