WHX?? 57,694 #1 Posted 1 hour ago (edited) This may be better posted in other brands since I an working on a customer's Ariens GT-20. if so mods can move it. Magnum 20 in this one and a rat's mess of the wiring. Haven't really got into it yet but wiring diagrams show this relay in the magneto ground to kill circuit. It's not listed in the parts manual either with no part id number. . I have no idea what's it for but when I get into the re-wiring it's probably gonna go if it is there. Same with all the safety switches they been hacked up so bad. Should be just a common magneto ground to kill through the switch right? I will put this in other brands you guys may want more pics. The M-Series have magneto ignition so the battery style of ignition switch is necessary to control the magneto ignition by the use of a relay. Wheel Horse/Toro also use this configuation. The relay illustration is poor. When the relay coil is energized the relay contacts are open. I might have added this is not the original motor but it appears the original motor was magneto too per the wiring diagram. The switch is probably not original either then the way this wiring was hacked on. Note that the I term on the switch has two fuses running right from the battery. Switch will most definitely replaced with one we use on horses for magnetos. Right now the kill switch is a hacked on grounding toggle switch. Edited 1 hour ago by WHX??
