702854boy 1,091 #1 Posted Sunday at 07:17 PM Is type F ATF safe to use in an 875 since type A is pretty much obsolete anymore?
adsm08 4,994 #2 Posted Sunday at 07:43 PM Type A, Type F, and the generic Dex/Merc are all pretty interchangeable these days.

702854boy 1,091 #4 Posted Sunday at 10:33 PM What is the proper length for the lipstick on these? Mine is 7 inches and the fluid is just barely on the stick after putting 4 quarts of atf in

Darn autocorrect, sometimes it does what you want and others it does this. Anyways what's the right dipstick length

Last night I was discussing a pop noise that my new car radio makes when you turn the key on, with my sister, and she thought it might be the amp getting an inrush spike. I said I only had three wires hooked to it from the head unit, and my phone changed "three wires hooked" to "three wife's holes".

702854boy 1,091 #10 Posted 9 hours ago So I need to add more fluid even though the manual said 4 quarts?
squonk 47,873 #11 Posted 8 hours ago Clean ATF is hard to see on the stick. I think @Achto paints his sticks white. I usually take a Q tip and starting above the full mark, dab the stick until I see fluid on the tip
702854boy 1,091 #12 Posted 8 hours ago I had laid the stick on its side one a clean paper towel and nothing was on the rag

Might be what I need to do since I completely emptied the system to change the fluid
WHX?? 57,720 #17 Posted 2 hours ago Lip stick on the dip ... never mind Howard I'll clue you in 30 years... or shortly after you get your DL ... which ever comes first. Guessing you changed the filter too that will add a bit but yes some times new fluid can be tough to read. Dan's trick sandblasting trick works but with fresh clean oil can still be abit sketchy. 875 is a bucket lister for many of us (Squonky doesn't deserve one) and I must have missed your thread with all the I got blind out house lucky and scored this one for chump change.
