Snowblower Deflector Actuator

Recommended Posts

TheMooseIsLoose

I am looking to  install a Deflector Actuator on my 520-H single stage snowblower. Does anyone out there use one and what brand/model number you are using. A 4" stroke shoud be sufficient. If anyone does please post a pic of it installed. Thank You

@ the moose is Loose  , easy to make a  chute base swivel mount  gasket / slider  , also like PAM  vegetable oil  aerosol  to enhance slide , https://www.truevalue.com/product/821098/flexible-flyer-polyethylene-36-in-flying-carpet-snow-sled-821098/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23532714148&gbraid=0AAAAAClad4tcAJpFDnwlxc9INM6dPJgp9&gclid=CjwKCAjwqJXUBhBNEiwA8BgG7qNTP52B-GDGc_aWfSzvvrL2W_1T4q0z2sj_w7KB4FImGLCfREBSwxoCKBsQAvD_BwE , would also , aerosil lube any related  movement area , after removal  of  deflector , very easy to measure up a slide point  gasket , that  turn  handle should move very easily  . pete

Think I have the same one but my blower is a 2 stage plus the rotation of the chute is also motorized.

Not a bad idea, but be sure to pay attention to the actuator's speed vs. stroke. Many move at 0.5” per second or less. That’s 8 (long) seconds for a 4” stroke to switch a chute from one side to the other.

It the load is light, consider a mechanism that multiplies the actuator’s displacement.

I put this on my tall chute a while back.

Mounted this way the 6" stroke is spot on.

The control is mounted in a pvc handy box with a magnet.

The directional crank works just fine for me.

Looks like a great mod.

Do you have a link for this actuator?
