c-series don 12,246 #1 Posted yesterday at 12:21 AM Let me start by saying that I don’t have a horse in this race, I have nothing to do with the listing! But @Dan 312-8 alerted me to an RJ for sale on Fleabay. Wow I can’t believe what the price jumped up to and the amount of bids. I’m curious to see what you guys think? And I’ll definitely be following it to see what it sells for. I’m not bidding. Maybe some of the guys here are? Again I have nothing to do with the listing.

JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,583 #3 Posted yesterday at 12:35 AM (edited) 1955 Wheel Horse RJ35 Ride Away JR. Cable Steering Garden Tractor. Complete. Edited yesterday at 09:28 AM by T-Mo No linking to ebay ads per RS rules.
ri702bill 12,654 #4 Posted yesterday at 08:40 AM Hmmm... complete, yes. Rare, yes. Potential, very much so. Worth the price - depends. The thing that irks me is that it is stated to be a barn find. To me, that means it was acquired most likely as a package deal, a clean out if you would. Probably bought for short money, (Gotta cover those Fleabay listing costs, ya know!) Maybe that was the “buy it now” price? 27 bidders, 79 watchers right now. Edited yesterday at 11:07 AM by EB-80/8inPA Stats

Probably bought for short money, (Gotta cover those Fleabay listing costs, ya know!) If someone makes a profit form having saved a vintage Wheel Horse from becoming scrap metal I'm happy. We don't KNOW it was a clean-out and a huge profit is being made but if it was then so be it. As an aficionado of rusty relics I am glad to see it being placed in the hands of someone who will show it some love, my only hope is that it will remain a Barn Find and not be restored, there are plenty of restored RJs out there but few that show the honest patina of their age. Of course I am old and show some honest patina of sorts so that explains a lot. 4

That is why I just mentioned it and didn’t want to provide a link. Just wanted the guys to check it out, as they don’t come along like that too often. @953 nut I agree with you, if I were to purchase it I’d just clean it up and save the patina. And as many of you know I like some shiny tractors!
953 nut 67,958 #9 Posted yesterday at 12:32 PM Only thing I would change is that shiny new gas cap. Just ain't right. 2
Sparky-(Admin) 26,119 #10 Posted yesterday at 01:12 PM Pricey maybe..but how many originals are out there for sale? How many have been restored (ruined) by a rookie with a rattle can, how many have cut hoods to accomadate a Predator motor etc. Its genuinely rare if you ask me.

Pullstart 70,947 #13 Posted 19 hours ago This came up on a FB group this week. He recently purchased it, asked a few questions, and listed it with the details he learned. It’s exciting to watch, but I don’t plan on throwing any bids at it.
c-series don 12,246 #14 Posted 19 hours ago It has gone up again since yesterday, some people have deep pockets!! I’d say that who ever buys it at a price like that, knows exactly what they’re buying and will treat it with respect and care. I hope anyway!

WHX?? 57,603 #17 Posted 12 hours ago If some one gets it for under 3 its a smokin deal. They won't tho I've been offered 3.5 k + for mine. That one will go for just South of 4 I'll guess.
953 nut 67,958 #18 Posted 2 hours ago Considering the prices paid for a 420-LSE lately I think that RJ should be worth upwards of $ 6,000 considering the fact that it is a 100% original survivor and it is extremely unlikely that another one exists.
