c-series don 12,242 #1 Posted 13 hours ago Let me start by saying that I don’t have a horse in this race, I have nothing to do with the listing! But @Dan 312-8 alerted me to an RJ for sale on Fleabay. Wow I can’t believe what the price jumped up to and the amount of bids. I’m curious to see what you guys think? And I’ll definitely be following it to see what it sells for. I’m not bidding. Maybe some of the guys here are? Again I have nothing to do with the listing. JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,582 #3 Posted 13 hours ago (edited) 1955 Wheel Horse RJ35 Ride Away JR. Cable Steering Garden Tractor. Complete. Edited 4 hours ago by T-Mo No linking to ebay ads per RS rules.
ri702bill 12,646 #4 Posted 5 hours ago Hmmm... complete, yes. Rare, yes. Potential, very much so. Worth the price - depends. The thing that irks me is that it is stated to be a barn find. To me, that means it was acquired most likely as a package deal, a clean out if you would. Probably bought for short money, (Gotta cover those Fleabay listing costs, ya know!) Maybe that was the “buy it now” price? 27 bidders, 79 watchers right now. Edited 2 hours ago by EB-80/8inPA Stats

Probably bought for short money, (Gotta cover those Fleabay listing costs, ya know!) If someone makes a profit form having saved a vintage Wheel Horse from becoming scrap metal I'm happy. We don't KNOW it was a clean-out and a huge profit is being made but if it was then so be it. As an aficionado of rusty relics I am glad to see it being placed in the hands of someone who will show it some love, my only hope is that it will remain a Barn Find and not be restored, there are plenty of restored RJs out there but few that show the honest patina of their age. Of course I am old and show some honest patina of sorts so that explains a lot. 2

That is why I just mentioned it and didn’t want to provide a link. Just wanted the guys to check it out, as they don’t come along like that too often. @953 nut I agree with you, if I were to purchase it I’d just clean it up and save the patina. And as many of you know I like some shiny tractors!
953 nut 67,925 #9 Posted 1 hour ago Only thing I would change is that shiny new gas cap. Just ain't right. 1
Sparky-(Admin) 26,117 #10 Posted 43 minutes ago Pricey maybe..but how many originals are out there for sale? How many have been restored (ruined) by a rookie with a rattle can, how many have cut hoods to accomadate a Predator motor etc. Its genuinely rare if you ask me.
