Gary S Minnesota 62 #1 Posted 5 hours ago Hey Folks, I picked up a nice 1977 C160 two years ago and finally have it purring sweetly. I ultrasonically cleaned the carb, replaced the fuel lines and pump and finally installed new points, condenser and coil. ( later found the old coil was fine). My question now involves the hydro unit.. It seems to have plenty of power, easily lifting the mounted 2 stage snow thrower. What puzzles me is that when the hydro lifts the blower, the engine RPM drops a bit. The RPM then stays at this lower speed until the the blower is lowered again relieving the load. Is this normal for a Sunstrand unit? Just curious? My 520 H with the Eaton 110 will also lose a bit of RPM when lifting but the RPM quickly returns to normal once the up lever is released and the load remains in the up position.
