I have a k341 that is leaking oil from the flywheel side and the breather.  I have been reading some of the replies about this topic.  I have replaced the oil seal on the flywheel side and I replaced the gaskets on the breather.  I have reassembled the breather correctly per the diagram. Yesterday I mowed with the dipstick ajar. That made a mess of everything around the dipstick.

It did slow the oil leak from the breather.

The engine doesn't smoke. I bought it new in 1978 and in the late 1980s I had a new.  .10 over size piston installed and bored out.

I have not touched the engine except for routine maintenance.

It is starting to lose power when I mow.

What is causing the oil leaking and loss of power and missing?

What ideas do you have

Probably blow by...You could do a leak down test to verify but oil out the dipstick usually means compression leaking by the rings..

Could even be a busted piston skirt. I found this in my C-160 engine that was still running. Using oil with little smoke and not much in the way of unusual noises.

Pardon the obvious, but that puts your rebuild at nearly 40 years old. Probably time for another one. The last one I did only lasted about 25 years so you got your money's worth for sure.
