Let the acting begin!!
Was never into it as it’s “fakeness” was obvious. My son however went thru a phase (like 10-12 years old) where he would watch it, so off to see it live in an arena we went.
I was blown away by how many adults were into it!! All concerned that their “guy” wasn’t winning…per the script

I attended several live WWF events - learned to wear old clothes - there was a good chance someone would spill their drink.

One evening at the Providence Civic Center, there were more fights in the stands than on the mat!

One of my uncles was so into TV wrestling that we had to get the hay in the barn by 2:00 PM so he could watch the fake fights. He seemed to believe that a wrestler could be pounded unmercifully then suddenly get a second breath and toss the opponent out of the ring.          :scratchead:         Best choreography known to man.

Back in the late 70's my brother was convinced that pro wrestling was legit, so I got tickets to an event in Portland. I tried to explain to him that it was fake. During every match he was telling me they hate each other and that's why it's so violent. After it was over we went out to the car and lit up a doobie. While we were standing there the wrestlers came out. They were all walking together and laughing. We heard one of them say "let's hit the bar and spend some of that money we made off all those fools".

My brother never watched pro wrestling again.
