Does this happen without a belt on the PTO? Any unusual ticking or noise around the rocker covers? service manual may be helpful. Blaine 246 #3 Posted yesterday at 01:09 AM Main jet adjusted too rich (load related, as the governor increases throttle to maintain rpm) Increased vibration from added load may be affecting the following: float level too high, float quit floatin’ right? needle and seat not sealing cleanly dirt in the bowl
Wvtroutbum81 324 #4 Posted 7 hours ago Took the carb off to clean, is the jet supposed to be off to the side like this? how do you get this apart?
sqrlgtr 3,320 #5 Posted 4 hours ago If it has been fine for a couple years probably just needs a good cleaning, hard to tell what ya looking at in pic. If fuel lines are old or not a good brand that may be where the drugs are coming from. I don't skimp on fuel lines any more learned my lesson on that. Went through a time when I would have to take carb off every so often to clean, couldn't figure out were trash/drugs was coming from, come to find out fuel lines were deteriorating and stopping everything up including filling fuel pump up with fine black particles. this was with some cheap fuel line I had bought local. I don't run anything but the 30R14 name brand stuff now, cost a little up front but well worth it in the long run. To me anyhow.
ineedanother 2,626 #6 Posted 3 hours ago Not sure what carb you're showing and I'm (definitely) no expert but it looks like a fixed main jet. Off-center is fine. Spray up through and you'll see where it dumps into the body (no emulsion tube). Spray back down from the top and clean it as best you can. Looks pretty clean. Your issue is likely float adjustment or the seat on the jet (on the left) not seating and overfilling the bowl which is flooding the intake. That could have been from debris in the bowl. How did that look when you disassembled it?
