sqrlgtr 3,286 #1 Posted 5 hours ago Headlight sockets were falling out of headlight bucket on C-160 and someone had evidently tried to tighten up the bulb base fitment by squeezing them with a pair of pliers . Got 2 1156 light sockets from LAPS and replaced the warped ones, added a little silver 100mph tape and some led bulbs, turned out great. Btw addded a ground wire to middle of headlight bucket so I wouldnt have to rely on hood hinge ground . 2 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
ri702bill 12,495 #2 Posted 4 hours ago (edited) That ground wire is super important - when I reburbed the C81, I used a 2 wire polarized trailer plug pair at the hood hinge so that the wiring could be easily unplugged if the hood needed to be removed. Sorry, no picture... Funny I had a trailer plug that I was going to use but could only find one side of it. Probably step on it tomorrow . I tied hot wires coming from light sockets together then used bullet connectors for them and ground wire fer a quick disconnect.
