953 nut 67,290 #3 Posted 4 hours ago (edited) I don't understand why the site political correctness filter didn't allow the word ***** League. The ***** Leagues were professional baseball leagues comprising primarily African American players that operated from 1920 to roughly 1950. Formed in response to Major League Baseball's exclusionary "gentleman's agreement" that enforced a strict color barrier, the leagues flourished as a pillar of Black culture and later saw their statistics officially recognized in MLB’s record books. This article is about the historical term. For the outdated race concept, see Negroid. For other uses, see ***** (disambiguation) and Negress (disambiguation). In the English language, the term ***** is a term historically used to refer to people of Black African heritage. The term ***** means the color black in Spanish and Portuguese (from Latin niger), where English took it from.[1] The term can be viewed as offensive, inoffensive, or completely neutral, largely depending on the context, region or country where it is used, as well as the time period and context in which it is applied.
