@Retired Wrencher glairing at me ? years ago , in addition to , insuring cable lubrication , regularly add a medium pull strength  extension spring to most advantageous LEVERAGE  pull to close cable stop point ?  have added small trim of perforated  metal , for  spring  to close pull point . like super lube hydraulic oil , check temp  range . every one of my  throttle / choke set ups  has this simple mod , initially you don't even see it , but consistent  functionality , lets you know its there  , paint it red / black , it disappears. most important part of  referral ? you are looking right at it .  dare to improve it , pete
