Fordiesel69 272 #3 Posted 2 hours ago So 1/2 x 102" long? Or 1/2 x 103" Local belt places dont have half sizes.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 12,319 #4 Posted 58 minutes ago Gates makes a Blade Runner series of belt that have fractional lengths but looked through a list of them and don't see one close to what you need. Part numbers are like 6420BR. Napa sells Gates belts. An A-100 industrial belt is 1/2" x 102" An A-101 industrial belt is 1/2" x 103" I do not know if these belts will withstand the reverse bending over a flat idler. They may because Gates lists some A-xxx belts for applications with a flat idler. If you can find a A-100 (102") to try at least you will know what works or won't work. Keep us posted on what happens for the next person. An A-100 is 100" datum circumference. We don't see that but it is determined by the location of the cords inside the belt and used for belt calculation and selection in industrial applications. You may have noticed the odd dimensions sheaves have that use a tapered hub. That is also a datum diameter also for speed calculations/design long with the belt datum length. Turns out the A belts add 2" to determine the outside circumference. B belts add 3". Some companies loosely use say a A-100 belt. It is the A (1/2") width but may be only 100 " long. Other companies it may be 102" long. So check the actual circumference when ordering.
