... but yet it was not until the 1960's that they were widely sold to the public.

I recall the first TV show I saw in color in 1963 - Bonanza. Chevrolet was their sponsor & there was a 10 minute or so ad for the then new 1964 lineup. The Chevelle was introduced that year.

Before COLOR TV there were colored strips that could be adhered to the screen to make the sky blue and the grass green when Bonanza was on.       Made Hop Sing look a bit funky though.

Three color plastic sheet to make you think your black and white TV is really color.
