Handy Don 16,917 #4 Posted July 2 There can be a ridiculous amount of rotational torque on a sleeve hitch so be sure the cross-to-legs and sleeve-to-cross welds are some of your best work. The bolts are 1/2" bolts I forget how long probably 2 1/2" I do remember I used some steel pipe (like black pipe for gas and cut the threaded ends off) for the pipe piece you are talking about I believe it was 1/2" pipe you will have to measure ID to verify it's 5/8" you might still have to run a drill bit through to clean it out.
