eric8 7 #1 Posted Sunday at 02:34 PM Regarding the engine wiring harness that goes up the dipstick tube. I found my tractor to have it going up the tube and over the black heat exhaust heat shield (which seems safer but doesn't look as neat). I've seen several pics like the attached that show it going up the tube and appearing to disappear under the exhaust heat shield, which would inevitably sandwich it between the exhaust pipe and cylinder head? Which is the correct routing from the factory?

I'm talking about the wiring harness that goes up the dipstick tube and under the black engine tin in the photo. Does it go under the engine tin as shown in the photo or above it? peter lena 9,921 #8 Posted Sunday at 07:39 PM @eric8 that belt guard is like a hot air furnace , if its vented , it greatly ENHANCES ENGINE HEAT DISCHARGE , that entire set up is known for heat related wiring issues , yo are looking right at the reason / cause of issues . sorry for suggesting , pete

Glad I took this thing apart. I found grass clippings stuck under the engine tin which definitely wasn’t helping matters
eric8 7 #10 Posted Sunday at 09:46 PM @lynnmor @BillD @sqrlgtr Can I also get a poll on throttle cable routing? Mine are routed like this guy's, down the right side of the engine following the positive battery cable in the hold down clamps. Now I just ran across a photo on here of the throttle cable going behind the rear cylinder, under the left side of the engine, and then curling up?

eric8 7 #16 Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Thanks @sqrlgtr! Looks like mine was all wrong. My throttle cable clip on the blower housing that yours has is missing in action too. I’m gonna bug you one more time. Does the cable go through the cable holder on the right front of the hoodstand? Or is that holder just for the positive battery cable?
