eric8 7 #1 Posted 6 hours ago Regarding the engine wiring harness that goes up the dipstick tube. I found my tractor to have it going up the tube and over the black heat exhaust heat shield (which seems safer but doesn't look as neat). I've seen several pics like the attached that show it going up the tube and appearing to disappear under the exhaust heat shield, which would inevitably sandwich it between the exhaust pipe and cylinder head? Which is the correct routing from the factory?

I'm talking about the wiring harness that goes up the dipstick tube and under the black engine tin in the photo. Does it go under the engine tin as shown in the photo or above it? peter lena 9,913 #8 Posted 1 hour ago @eric8 that belt guard is like a hot air furnace , if its vented , it greatly ENHANCES ENGINE HEAT DISCHARGE , that entire set up is known for heat related wiring issues , yo are looking right at the reason / cause of issues . sorry for suggesting , pete

Glad I took this thing apart. I found grass clippings stuck under the engine tin which definitely wasn’t helping matters
