Recommended Posts

Evening,

Posted a thread asking about how to remove 856 deck before and cannot find it… anyone have a quick breakdown of how to do it and helpful tips? Perhaps a manual with pictures if ever existed?

It's pretty easy, even easier with two people.

Step one, very important this is done first: Slip the belt from the engine off the deck pulley.

2: remove the lift link.

3: Release the retaining forks at the front of the tractor.

4: Turn wheels all the way to the right, pull deck out from the left. It helps to rock it up to the right a bit so the lift link clears under the frame. That's where the second person comes in.

Thank you. So after looking over my tractor today. Before I attempted remove and make more work for myself. I’ve taken pictures of what I believe are the steps you mentioned.
1. Is this the Deck belt I need to slip off the deck. From this circled end? Where would it slip off at if the gear box is in the way?

2. Is this the lift link I need to pull

up And remove off tractor?
3. Loosen this Nut Bolt and remove- This is 1 of 2 the retaining fork?
