two.intense@hotmail.com 0 #1 Posted 6 hours ago Hello All, I just joined this Group and I would appreciate any information. I have a 520-HC and I have broken a tooth off my Fan gear. I accidently got to close to my retaining wall and caught my left front tire, which in turn jerked my steering wheel, and seemed to have broken the top tooth off my Fan gear (found broken tooth near area on tractor). Now it just clicks when putting pressure to turn. I made sure the collar is all the way up putting downward pressure on the shaft, and the Fan gear is tight against the steering shaft gear. Does anyone one know where I can get replacements? or should I try welding and filing it? Much Appreciated

cleat 8,989 #3 Posted 2 hours ago The 520HC uses the same steering gear as the non gear reduction swept front axle 520H that I think was produced in 1990. That may widen your search a bit.

The difference is in the tab for the tie rods. Same for the upper steering shaft. In your case they can be used as well. Just cut the shaft ahead of the gear and match the original length. Can be butt welded directly or by using a 3/4 ID steel spacer as a centering collar. Edited 34 minutes ago by kpinnc
