I recently spent an inordinate amount of time searching for non-ag 6-12s and even considered 6.00-12s (which fit the same rim but have different profile). The was only one other option, a knobby style with a rounded profile. I bought the Firestones and I’m very satisfied.

WHX?? 56,753 #6 Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I do like those Firestones but yes they are pricey. I found a set cheap of originals at the BS but got them home and realized they were mismatched thread pattern. Not a big deal and if anybody said anything I would tell them to buy me some at Miller's. Mighta given them to @Achto??? @Pullstart had a set I used on a 701 resto that weren't great but again anyone says anything. Used ones might be out there. If you run chains a cheap set of turfs might be OK?? Can you tube the ones you have or are they too far gone? Edited 1 hour ago by WHX??

Do they show signs of sidewall cracking? I guess I'm asking 'cause I bought a set of the knock off Firestone tri-ribs fronts used from a member here for a nice discount. They were like new with nubbies yet. Within a few years they sidewall cracked and never would hold air without tubes. Makes me wonder if the repros from Miller have a less than quality rubber compound. The repro Firestone turf glide branded ones on the front of that 701 also came from Miller so we'll see. Lane Ranger 11,975 #8 Posted 15 minutes ago (edited) Although rare to find , i was lucky to get two General 6/12s with wheels at the Portland, Indiana Tri-State Engine Club swap meet in May. The rubber on these is like new. $120. Of course i had just purchased two new Carlisle Tru-Power 6/12s. For $250 ! There are still some tire deals out there!
