856 - Fuel pump

Please comment. It looks like it has been modified (top was from B80)


The diaphragm has debris and cannot be cleaned.

 

If I need to buy new, which one I should go.

I have had pretty good luck rebuilding these and have rebuilt 3 in the past year using "ThenandNow" kits. I dont like the looks of the electric pumps on the S/g tractors but I do use them on the later model stuff and if your only goal is to get up and running that is the only way to go but if your trying to keep original look its well worth the effort of rebuilding the ol mech pumps. I don't even look at the newer plastic pumps, all though I have couple that came on tractors from PO's and have had good luck out of them.
