Clutch bolt worked there way out.

I changed the clutch fiber disk put everything back the way it came off.  After running it for and a 1.5 hours the bolts all backed out.  Does anyone know why this could happen.

Did you install the 2 lock plates and bend them to lock the bolts?

Clean the bolts and threads up with carb cleaner and put a spot of blue removable locktite on each bolt and reinstall, 8 ft lbs torque.

Those plates were intended to distribute the torque across the disc.

Yes I did put those plates on and I might forgot to add blue lock tight.  Could that be the only problem is I forgot lock tight.

Most likely. I've never had any loosen that had loctite on them. 

 

One thing of note: make sure the retaining plates are nice and flat. Sometimes overzealous folks apply too much torque and bend them. If they have a bend just lie them on flat steel and tap flat with a hammer.

I will have to give it a try when I get the new parts.  Since when the bolts came out I lost them.

I wonder if the clutch plate thickness is different than the dimension from the groove to the end of part 40.  Is this an aftermarket clutch plate?

It could be not to sure.  It did fit on the part 40 It did fit snug.

@Duddy  pto drag feed back ?  how easily  does the pto belt to mule drive belt to deck move by hand ? that entire set up , every rotational  part / area , is a movement  hand off , thats what  , east belts / frays belts and also eats clutches . snoop around , bet you find a rough  or  dragging  zone , pete

Not sure on the pto drag. When the belt is connected it does move by hand easily through the mule drive. I will re-check everything to see if it moves freely.
