PTO clutch plate

Recommended Posts

New2WH

Recently acquired C-161 16hp Wheel Horse. It appears the clutch plate is wiped out. Where can I get a service manual that shows the parts break down for this assy. Any help on where I can find the model and s/n tag? Are parts still made for Wheel Horse?

Thanks

Welcome to Red Square.

This link shows where the ID tags were in 1978. That is the steering fan gear in the background. An odd location and they did not stay there for long. This is the 12 hp model but tag location will be the same.

The tag should have the model number, serial number a 4-digit build date.

Click on the fuzzy picture in this link.

@ NEW 2 WH , most important question  ?   what's causing the  , plate wear / drag ?  bet its COLLECTIVE  LUBRICATION / FAILURE , most of the units I see , have belt drives that barely function , ironically  once converted , that  set up is truly  amazingly  smooth  , easy in its function . most immediate show of that ? mule drive belt , from engine down to  frame pulley mount , mine move move easily  by hand , no rough , erratic  function , also  frayed belts will  tell you that  , just a heads up on the  repetitive failure  , pete

Thank you all for your response. I was told by previous owner that the clutch gave out while snow blowing (hitting ice)

I will take a look for the model/serial number
