Blade advice - Discontinued 115084

Recommended Posts

Confuzzled

hello all.

I have a 314-8 with a 37" side discharge mower deck and a rear bagger. Bought it new in the 90's and it's still running! Used to buy these blades that were very expensive that had a metal flange bolted to the one that was closest to the chute... blade kit 115084. From what I've been able to figure out, this is discontinued.

Unfortunately, I need new blades and am wondering what I can use to replace these with. Does anyone have any recommendations? Yes, I should ask at my local dealer but I'm kind of not happy with them right now. And it's a holiday here in Ontario so everything is closed. Thought I'd do some research and figure out whether I can save some $$$ on this.

whatever it is needs to be 18.5" long or close to that with a 3/4" hole. the 115-9649-30 Toro high flo blade kit says they are 20.5" long and that will be too big. There's a bunch of not-toro brands out there which are way cheaper but can't seem to find anything within those specs. This one is for Cub Cadet but seems to be the right sizes? Can't really afford to put something wrong on there and completely blow up my mower deck.

Anyway, I'm running around in circles here while the grass keeps growing longer. If anyone is in a similar predicament and you have a solution, I would be so grateful to hear what you did? Short of building your own blades, that is. :D

Thanks in advance!

As long as the specs are the same you should be good even though they say they are for a Cub Cadet/MTD . Just make sure the blades look similar. For instance are the blades flat all the way across or do they have step down in them . I had bought a used mower and it mowed beautifully but I couldn’t figure out why it was mowing so low even when I raised the deck . On further inspection the blades cutting edge were stepped down 1’ from the mounting surface . I just went through the Oregon catalog until I found the correct flat blade with all the right specs . I have been using Oregon blades for decades . Hope this helps .

Thanks! I just wish I could see these live and in person, so I can judge and measure for myself. I'll write down the model number and see what's available in stores (if any) tomorrow.
