PWL216 1,261 #76 Posted 3 hours ago With guidance from @Bill D…. Took off the plastic trigger ring using a small hook-end pic. Found a few small pieces on the flywheel magnets of what I assume are old flywheel key and/or pieces gouged off the crankshaft. Cleaned the trigger ring with acetone. Still don’t like the way it threads in - to tight. I tried a standard 7/16-14 and it felt the same way. That magnet will shed more pieces, jam into the charging stator and ruin the stator or break the stator mounting tabs off the cam cover. You can chase the threads in the crank with a tap.
