Thanks for the suggestion. Why? If they haven't done anything in nine months and haven't kept you informed then I don't think YOU should feel any obligation to that shop. Bring it home and let us diagnose the problem with you. Confidence in one's own abilities is only an issue when it is undeserved. With the issue at hand, even though the cause is unknown, and the group here, I'd say the confidence is deserved.
