C-101 PTO clutch change

Recommended Posts

Reddart

PTO seems to be slipping with the mower deck this season. The lever adjustment is all the way down, so I assume that means a new clutch plate or friction plate is needed? Is there any how to on the site for this?

also, can I just replace the friction disk, or is a new clutch plate needed?  Anything else I should change while I have the PTO pulley off?

@76c12091520h Brian Badman has the clutch discs.

You'll also want to clean, check, and re-lube the PTO bearings.

While it's all detached check every pivot point in the lever system.

If your chutch disc is worn down to the heads of the brass rivets, it's time to change it.

There was a post a while back about just replacimg the friction material part..... IMHO, that's too much like work. Easier, simpler & faster to get a new one.

NOTE - The replacements are usually 6" in diameter - the OE may have been a tad smaller. Either fit the C series...
