Engine making a lower end rattling noise.

Recommended Posts

Retired Wrencher

I just got this 1057 back up and running this spring went through it front to back.. I noticed a few weeks ago. It’s starting to make this lower end rattling noise. I was told could be the balance gears in the engine, but this one has no gears in it so I’m gonna give you a couple videos to listen to again, excuse my video taking skills. Any thoughts are welcome.

I have a K321 with the gears removed that was professionally rebuilt. Has about 30 hours on it and has the same noise. I'm not worried about it.

Might be piston slap, are you using the same oil as before?  Any chance that gasoline got into the oil?  Does it change as the temperature changes or the engine warms?
