onan oil filter cooling gasket

the rubber ring that goes around my p218 oil filter broke. i know that sucker is pretty essential to cooling. do you guys know where i could get one?

That gasket is now hard to find, Google Onan 122-0502 to search for one, you might get lucky.  The Case website mentioned above has a solution if you can't find the original.

Excellent idea Joe. There are many different sizes of automotive vacuum line tubing a guy could try.

I think anything that would direct the air toward #2 cylinder insted of letting it escape around the oil filter would work. I have tried running mine without for a minute or two just to see how much air you loose and it is indeed a lot!

When my filter air gasket broke, I used weather strip glue to put it back on, and then ordered a new one. It stayed in place until I changed oil the following time, at which time I put a new one on.

Lost mine in the field a few weeks ago. Ordered one on EBay for $13.95. Found the original one few days ago. They are identical in fit and material. Hope this helps.
