Phan 56 #1 Posted Wednesday at 07:46 PM Hi - I have a follow-up question. I posted earlier about the broken B100 PTO switch. I tried to fix it, but it seems difficult. Could anyone tell me how to bypass the wire without using the PTO switch? I am thinking of installing a switch between the conneting wires for safety and operation purposes. Not all B-100 are wired alike. 1974 and 1975 have different PTO safety switches and the PTO on a 1977 could have been the optional electric PTO which requires a totally different switch. If you are making reference to bypassing a safety switch we strongly discourage doing this, safety switches are there to protect you. Unless you are very competent in electrical wiring I would suggest you stick with the factory wiring and buy the correct type switch once we figure out what you are looking for. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Hi 953 nut - Thank you fo ryour advice. I want to sell it and would be 400 CAD if it runs and it would not be wose to buy the swich (which may cost me 120 CAD or higher). gwest_ca-(File Mod) 12,167 #8 Posted 11 hours ago That switch is two switches in one. I am guessing on the wire colors here because we do not have a 1976 wiring diagram. I am using the late 1975 diagram. When the pto is off (button not pushed) the red wires are connected and go on the the clutch pedal switch and then to starter. When the pto is off (button not pushed) the black wires are connected and send power the the ignition coil. Click on the tractor to see the 1975 diagram. I believe it is the same as you have.
