Another mouse prevention FAILURE!

Recommended Posts

Lots of idea to keep mice out of the equipment.  have not found a winner yet.  They like to use dryer sheets in the nest and whine they get wrapped around the bendix it is a bad day.  Have the 5 gal bucket trap sort of works if the storage ares is sealed enough to keep out possums raccoon etc they just rip the top off to get the bait.  Mothballs are always mentioned...Went to crank up the Case VAC today for the first time since October.  The white bag is holding the moth balls.  After I cleaned it off she fired right up.

Same here. We've tried 37 bajillion methods.

We keep plastic snap traps set up year round. Even during the "hibernation" season we occasionally nab a wee mousey.

Sparky

I’m experimenting with this peppermint oil spray. I fire up the engine and shoot it right into the flywheel screen while it’s spinning. In theory it’s getting all over everything behind the shroud. Then a few shots behind the dash covering the ignition and any other wiring.

House cat I'm guessing.

Wonder how long it will work.

WHX??

She uses cotton balls with some kind of cinnamon scent on  them. I don't know if they work and you guys can keep the repellents I wanna see um dead!

I decimated the population with poison and good old Victors baited with sunflower seeds.

Barn cats keep the outlying populations down.

If you have mice you have not gone to war yet.

Since I have nosey dogs these are best.

This guy kinda makes a career out of making them and still didn't do it right.

Trina uses that in the camper. Seems to work but needs reapplication often.

I was hoping for more like a mountain lion.

It won’t last long. Hard to say when it’s not working anymore but I’m estimating 4-6 weeks before I need to fire up my Kohlers and shoot in a second dose.

Maine Coon maybe?

Here's our little ball of fur. He's bigger than our dogs

I've written about this before

Try snake skin molts. Put pieces around and on the machinery you want to protect. I put them around inside my shed and also some snap traps to grade progress. So far so good

That's a new one.  Never heard of that before.  Makes sense though.

There was only a small garter snake skin in one of my engines which sat out back on a tractor for over 2 years. I was SURE it would have a huge nest in it but nope, only that skin. I also put them in the crawl space of my house. Traps have stayed unsnapped and peanut butter bait is dry and shriveled.  At least they don't make nests out of them like dryer sheets! LOL

Lol when we close camp down for the winter she put dryer sheets on all the beds to keep them off. They crapped on them anyway.
