Skwerl58 813 #1 Posted 8 hours ago I rewired my 1054 to "Solenoid Ignition" 3 years ago. I went to start it and the electric fuel pump kicks on but no go on the starter generator. I checked the solenoid and finally jumped it and it fired right up. I went and picked up a new Rotary solenoid and installed it and have the same problem. No starting but can hear the fuel pump running. Anyone have any idea where I should do next to try to get it going. I have checked connections, cleaned key switch, just looking for some help. Thanks!
ri702bill 11,768 #2 Posted 8 hours ago Check for power at the small solenoid wire with the key in the "start" position. Are you using a 3 or 4 terminal solenoid?? A 3 terminal grounds thru the mounting bracket, a 4 terminal requires one of the small terminals to be grounded to complete the "pull in" circuit...
Skwerl58 813 #3 Posted 7 hours ago The small terminal wire goes to the switch. Like previously wired, 2 large terminals and the smaller terminal
ineedanother 2,010 #4 Posted 7 hours ago You're either not getting 12v from the switch to the small terminal when you turn the key to start, or your solenoid isn't grounded (or you have a bad solenoid).
953 nut 65,134 #5 Posted 4 hours ago When you did the rewire did you put in any fuses? Could be a bad fuse. Your wiring should look like this.
Skwerl58 813 #6 Posted 4 hours ago 953 nut that is the diagram I used. I did install a fuse and it is good. Will re check grounding and make certain of voltage on the small wire. If these check out will try to swap out another solenoid.
