1054 not turning over

Recommended Posts

I rewired my 1054 to "Solenoid Ignition" 3 years ago. I went to start it and the electric fuel pump kicks on but no go on the starter generator. I checked the solenoid and finally jumped it and it fired right up. I went and picked up a new Rotary solenoid and installed it and have the same problem. No starting but can hear the fuel pump running. Anyone have any idea where I should do next to try to get it going. I have checked connections, cleaned key switch, just looking for some help. Thanks!

Check for power at the small solenoid wire with the key in the "start" position.

Are you using a 3 or 4 terminal solenoid?? A 3 terminal grounds thru the mounting bracket, a 4 terminal requires one of the small terminals to be grounded to complete the "pull in" circuit...

The small terminal wire goes to the switch. Like previously wired, 2 large terminals and the smaller terminal

You're either not getting 12v from the switch to the small terminal when you turn the key to start, or your solenoid isn't grounded (or you have a bad solenoid).

953 nut

When you did the rewire did you put in any fuses?  Could be a bad fuse.

Your wiring should look like this.

953 nut that is the diagram I used. I did install a fuse and it is good. Will re check grounding and make certain of voltage on the small wire. If these check out will try to swap out another solenoid.
