953 nut 65,470 #5 Posted April 19 (edited) I have always oiled my prefilters, about a teaspoon of oil applied to one side, turn it inside-out, put it in a plastic bag and massage the oil into the entire prefilter. Wring out any excess oil into the badg, turn it right side out and apply it to your filter. This is from the Kohler operaters manual. hotajax 270 #7 Posted April 20 If you oil it (very advantageous), roll in up in a piece of newspaper and squeeze to get out all the excess oil. This way you won't soak the underlying filter with oil.
