hotajax 253 #7 Posted 11 hours ago So those bearings are all over ebay. Very plentiful. If you just ask for Wheel Horse front wheel bearings, most of what comes up will fit. There's a guy out there selling sealed lubricated bearings on eBay. Meaning: you don't have to lube that wheel. I think the price on ebay was around 16 bucks for those prelubed sealed bearings. I bot some cheap ones, and they fall out of the hub when you remove the wheel from the spindle. I mean they're really cheap.
Retired Wrencher 6,566 #8 Posted 4 hours ago I find if you go to a bearing dealer you can get a better bearing. I am lucky enough to have two dealers in town I live in. Bearings like Timkin! This company has been in business for many years. Where I used to work, the maintenance crew guys that I knew very well always used Timpkin bearings for repairs.

Racinbob 12,885 #10 Posted 2 hours ago Been using these for quite a few years now. About $12.00/4. I can change a lot of bearings and still be ahead but I haven't had to yet.
953 nut 65,082 #11 Posted 2 hours ago Go ahead and buy a good quality bearing. A year from now you won't remember what it cost but if you buy the cheapest ones you will discover they weren't such a bargin when you are having to replace them.

I've looked and looked for high speed or precision bearings as their called but yet to find any in flanged 1 3/8 x 3/4. Not sure if they are even worth it anymore Richard. All I know now is if they are advertised as wheel barrow bearings I stay away.
cleat 8,902 #14 Posted 1 hour ago What I have found is that if they at least look like a machined vs stamped bearing and have seals then they seem to work and last. If you get the cheap ones that are obviously just stamped out then not only do they not last or roll properly but they are often looser than a well worn machined bearing. I like to have a seal on at least the outboard side of the bearing to keep out dirt and water and keep the Grease in.
