953 nut 65,033 #3 Posted 7 hours ago That appears to be the cap that retains the acceleration valve on a Sundstrand, I do not think it has any penetration to the outside. Handy Don 16,210 #4 Posted 6 hours ago An acceleration valve would not have any exposure to atmospheric pressure (i.e. an “outside” opening). Its operation relies on the differences between two internal pressures, and a spring. Small engine, float-bowl carburetors do have a “vent” to prevent a buildup of air pressure in the bowl from affecting the carefully metered delivery of fuel to the throat.
