Instead of doing it while mowing, I make special event of it.

 

The C141 - 8-speed with the tranny selected to Low 2 or Low 1, Throttle set at about 3/4 position, Ear buds in, Beverage in hand & away we go. 

 

Usually about a 3 drink job.

I roll mine right after the frost leaves and we have some heavy rain.   This is always before the first mowing.

I’ve always been confused about this. Aeration is done to open up the compacted soil and to help seed from over seeding germinate. 
doesnt rolling compact the soil  defeating the purpose of aeration?

More seat time.  Roll it to smooth it out, then aerate it.

It all depends on the soil, in many cases you can do more harm than good when rolling.

I aerate and then roll the plugs that came up from the aeration. Aerator really messes up the mole runs and the roller leaves them where the mower won't hit them.
