B100 - 36 inch mower compatibility?

Recommended Posts

Perhaps the Forum Administrators or other members can help clarify this issue?

the B100 Tractor is listed as manufactured in 74,75,76,77............there were 36 inch mower decks listed for those respective years as models 5-0721; 5-0621; 5-0722; 5-0622; 65-36ms01; 65-36xr01; 75-36ms01; and 75-36xr01. Also perhaps, 76-36xr01 ????

there were "next generation" or "successor" 36" rear discharge model decks including later in the 80's --- eg: 36 inch r.d. models 05-36mr01,and 02,03,04 etc

Can the 36 inch decks from the 80's be used on the B100 of the 1970s? Are they compatible? Thanks, Bill

This is a list put together from the Attachment Interchange. It lists the deck (2) that replaced the original (1) and the deck that was available when the Interchange was created (4). What is missing are the decks (3) between (2) and (4). They are listed but you have to follow a deck year by year to find the others.

1979 model 95-36MR00 (Blades up to this point have the 5/8" x 3/4" double-D center hole unless the spindle has been upgraded)

The decks thru their final year in 2007 will work just fine on the 1977 and older B's. I'm still using a deck I purchased in the 70's on my 2005. I initially purchased it for a 76 B. Keep in mind that in 78 the B-series became lawn tractors so the interchangeability isn't there.

My 1974 B-80 came with a 36" RD deck, that is pretty much the same as the one that came with my 1987 310-8.

i looked at the Interchange list - the list does not answer my question because the list shows the concurrent mower decks of that era (1970s) that fit on that B100 tractor for the years tractor was manufactured......... what the Interchange list DOES NOT do is then list attachments in later years that go back in years to tell us what "future" attachment would fit on an earlier year tractor? My issue is trying to confirm if a mower deck like a 1980's 36 inch 05-36mr01 fits on an older B100 tractor from the prior decade of the 1970s - - - - the Interchange does not provide that information? That's the confirmation I am seeking? thanks, Bill

when you say "pretty much the same" - - that's helpful but i was trying to know if it actually is a fit and usable on a 80's 36 inch deck and fits on a 70s B100? thanks Bill

when you say "newer deck" -- that deck looks to me like a 80s era version  of a 36 -- in the family of 05-36mr01, 02,03,04? yes ?

Those interchange lists can't see into the future. Just rest assured, ALL the decks from the tach-a-matic years are interchangeable. Just to simplify things, ignore the 37" and 60" and the lawn tractors. That means from 72-73 thru 2007. Any differences in the p/n's doesn't affect the interchangeability. I'm running a late 70's deck on a 2005 and a 2005 deck on a 1976. It's as simple as that.

Yes

the machine came with the deck on the front of the manual that I highlighted. in the later 80's I purchased a new deck and replaced the original one. the one in the pic is the newer 80's deck
