clip 185 #1 Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Getting back into WH after a few years and a 520H has popped up locally I'll be checking out. 93/94 maybe (controls on the column) 700-900 hours, refreshed 48" deck and a snow blade. Asking price is $3000 but after browsing the classifieds it looks like this is at the higher end of the price range. Apparently it's had the hydraulic pump replaced, which I'm interpreting as the Eaton 1100. It sounds like maintenance has been kept up, and the pictures reflect this. When I go to look at it I'll be checking for the usual leaks and smoke, as well as any valve train noise from the Onan and confirm it's got the plow bracket on the rear axle. Any other specifics to check out? Anyone have recent data points to compare for pricing? Edited 3 hours ago by clip
ri702bill 11,477 #2 Posted 2 hours ago Onan.... look at the condition of the dreaded 9 pin connector in the wiring harness closely. Perhaps even seperate the halves to look at the condition (ask first). It is the source of the majority of starting / charcing problems due to high resistance over the years that melts it.....
JCM 10,895 #3 Posted 1 hour ago On the high end for sure unless it's mint. Plow brackets are usually around if you need one. Good Luck
JCM 10,895 #4 Posted 1 hour ago Bought my first 1993 520-H around 2001 from a dealer that took it on a trade for a Kubota for $ 2750.00. Then ended up taking the Eaton 1100 apart and sending the Pump out to have serviced. Strap it to a tree and make sure the rear tires spin in both directions. It was blowing the Hydro oil filters up to make them look like a frozen soda can. Kept it and sold it 3 or 4 years after to 2 friends, one still owns it. In 2002 I bought a one owner 1991 with 400 ish hours on it, still have it. The one in the picture with the Kwik-Way loader in the background is the 1991 I still own. Awesome tractors Good Luck
