Rustoleum Sunrise Red High Temp??

Recommended Posts

RoubaixRider

Good day all, and happy St. Patrick’s Day!
So I’ve been searching the forum, and couldn’t quite find what I was looking for, so I hope this is not a redundant post…

I’m looking for a high temperature sunrise red paint… Rustoleum? Does such a thing exist in that color? The closest I found online does not list that color specifically. Curious what the rest of you have done with engine block paint choices.
My engine is coming back from the shop this coming weekend and looking forward to getting the old girl moving forward!

Best,

Jason

The only part of your engine that becomes hot enough to damage regular spray paint is the head and the cooling fins around the cylinder. The head should never be painted and the cooling fins should only be given a light coat of high temperature paint, I prefer flat black for the fins.

You could also paint the fins with hi temp silver.  Then paint the base of the block sunrise Red.

I use the same acrylic enamel paint on the engine that I use on the rest of the tractor. I never paint the aluminum cylinder head or the bearing plate. The only place that the paint ever discolors is around the exhaust port.

Same here. Once the tins go on you can only see the PTO side of the fins, and it looks nice and clean.

I'll second that. Worst problem I've had is getting the block clean enough to get regular paint to stick unless it's a full rebuild.

Yeah yeah that's for the 701. I'll get it finished eventually. At least it's now bolted in the tractor!

Dawn Power wash after you regular degreaser works pretty good.

:thumbs2: She just got a bottle of that for dishes and I absconded it for the shop.

Worked good on a greasy tranny and not too harsh to take off patina.
