stevasaurus 23,609 #1 Posted Monday at 08:33 PM The guy who did this video was in my High School graduating class...Elgin High 1967. Bob is the author and musician that put this video together. Sadly, he just passed a few weeks ago. The pictures are of most of us that went through the Service in the late 60's. These are friends that I still get together with, golf with and sometimes party with. We have lost a few of these guys, but the memories are still strong. I am in the last picture, back row, middle. Steve H. Thanks for watching. 2 2 1 1
Beap52 2,001 #2 Posted Monday at 10:33 PM An honoring and humbling video of America's finest. Our son spend 18 months on the back of a flatbed truck behind 50 cal. as last gunner convoying in Iraq. He came home a changed man. Thanks for sharing 2

C-85 780 #8 Posted 8 hours ago Thanks for sharing, it is sad to hear we've lost another brother! I went to Army basic training at Ft. Dix NJ in 1980 , I was 19 then. When I graduated I was on my way home wearing my class A uniform in Logan Airport in Boston and 2 young girls walked passed me and they said "oh, there's another baby killer." I never forgot that and it still bothers me, I can't imagine the pains our Vietnam era brothers and sisters feel when people say dumb things like this to them! Obviously they never served and were put in terrible situations like many of us have been through, if they had been, perhaps there would be a lot more understanding! I deployed to Desert Shield/Storm and those were bad enough, but at least we didn't have to deal with jungles! I do feel that all of these wars suck! I have the upmost respect for all of our veterans, especially our Vietnam veterans! Thanks again! C-
kpinnc 17,140 #9 Posted 3 hours ago My time in the military was between the first and second Gulf wars, and I was not deployed overseas. Because of that fact, I am truly in awe of the brave service members who have left behind all aspects of thier lives to defend the rest of us. The vast majority during the Vietnam conflict were not given a choice. Volunteers were rare in that period. Even so, they served and sacrificed for us all. Thank you for sharing this. We should never forget those who are responsible for the freedom we have. They deserve our respect no matter what.
