Fuel Line Fittings

Recommended Posts

Would anyone happen to know where I could get some fuel line fittings like the ones in the photo? Also would I need anything special like a specific type of line or flare putter onner?

Are you looking for all three pieces - the threaded fitting, the nut, and the soft sealing cylindrical part??

If you are looking for just the sealing parts, I have bought them in the past from Lowell.

The fitting and nut seem to be in good condition but the seals appear to be pretty cracked and the one fitting is able to slip off the end of the line so I wasn't sure what was needed to flare and reseal.

I spare Handy Don and RI Bill.
Yes, Viton is comparable with gas, oil, grease. It is an upgrade from conventional rubber.

I use a cheap tubing bender and hardware store compression fittings. :)

The only possible issue I see happening is fatigue cracking from vibration using these. Perhaps that is the reason for the soft seal??

FYI - the ones I bought appear to be made of 3/16 (5mm) automotive fuel injection hose....

Because the pump and carb are both solidly mounted to the engine I don't think that would be a problem. Being compression fittings there's no rubber seal for the fuel to attack. I did that shortly after I got the tractor at the 2018 show and it's been fine. That 854 is dedicated to the sickle mower so a breakdown is nothing more than a nuisance but I'd likely still go electric if there was an issue.

I have a few for the bigger engines eight and up. They’re a little dirty, but they could be cleaned out. Let me know if you want them. I’ll just send them to you. You’re also gonna need the little rubber grommets on the end. I believe I have the part number for that.
