ebinmaine 77,093 #2 Posted 11 hours ago Nope. Slides right out. ..... unless it's rust welded in. 2
76c12091520h 4,102 #3 Posted 10 hours ago If you are referring to the roll pin in the picture, yes , they can be difficult. Will need driven out using a special roll pin punch that won't mushroom the ends of it . Likely rusted fast after nearly 50 years 2

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,986 #5 Posted 10 hours ago Take the hoop off the tractor so you can lay it on it's side where one good slam from a hammer should start it moving. Got to ask - why do you want the pin out? 2
Joker72 78 #6 Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Im trying to put a snow blower belt around the pto. Taking it off may be necessary to get the quick feature back. Edited 10 hours ago by Joker72
Handy Don 15,764 #7 Posted 9 hours ago Check out the manual for your tractor and/or snowblower. You’ll discover that the way to change the PTO belt is to remove pins holding the PTO bail at its upper and/or lower pivot and then slide the bail up or down to get clearance between the clevis and the stub in the PTO shell. 5 2

Soaking with Kroil for a while and as @76c12091520h says roll pin punch with patience should do it. 2

Just pull the two hairpin clips and the hoop will drop down. Then swing the hoop to the rear , Install the belt and reinstall the hoop . 8 1
c-series don 11,259 #10 Posted 8 hours ago Yes, as the guys said you don’t need to remove the roll pin to change the belt.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,986 #11 Posted 8 hours ago This operator manual will explain the steps to install. Year may be different but the attachment changed very little. If you have a flat file run it around the sides of the outer pto pulley groove to smooth out the rust or use a coarse sandpaper. Makes for less belt wear.
squonk 45,383 #12 Posted 8 hours ago With bigger pin out just rotate the arm to the rear. No need to unhook anything else. 1

cleat 8,722 #14 Posted 7 hours ago No. Just disconnect the pto trunnion the the pto plate will rotate enough to disengage the hoop from. The pto bell thrust bearing. 2 2
Ed Kennell 44,691 #15 Posted 6 hours ago I'm not sure if my 312H is stock or if the trunnion was put on top to get better rod alignment, but the muffler prevents the disconnection on mine. Requiring me to pull the lower pin in the PTO hoop to let it lower enough to allow the U bracket to clear the stub shaft. 1

That would be upside down for a 520H, I don't know why the 312H was made that way. It appears that the rod would be at too much of an angle if you reversed it.

Unhook the pto control shaft from the triangle plate and it will pivot out away from the stub shaft. ( I forgot that part) Hoop stays attached. Done it a zillion times.
Joker72 78 #18 Posted 4 hours ago (edited) I couldn't get the arm to slide up or down far enough for the mechanism to clear the PTO shaft. Grinder fixed it. I didn't like that feature. Edited 2 hours ago by Joker72
Joker72 78 #19 Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Will put a cotter pin through it. Edited 2 hours ago by Joker72

My 312H 312-8 and 314 are all underneath the same as my 520's If you flip your over it will be easy to disconnect for belt removal.
