Oiling Pre Filters

I use PJ1 foam filter oil, its sticky so no drip off like motor oil, I can get 100+ hours of mowing out of a paper element and have barely any dirt on it..Just the finest of fines...but the foam sleeve will be packed every 8-10 hours.  Its worth doing, the less dirt that hits the paper, the better

I usually spritz it with light coat of K&N filter oil. I've had the same can for about 6yrs.

I check it over at oil change time. If it looks dirty then I grab the K&N cleaner, spray it down, scrub, rinse, and re-oil. Again, this stuff goes a long way, think my cleaner bottle is about the same age as the oil.

That, what been using for years, just about out of my first can. I quit using it for my truck when I had two mechanics that I respect tell me the stuff put a bit of a coating on my MAP which probably negates the higher volume of air the air filter delivers.

My 1986 417-8 is equipped with the anti-icing system air cleaner and I am having trouble finding the correct element for it.  I have yet to even find out what is the correct part number.  It is 6 inches OD and 1 7/8 high.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
