Check the attachment interchange chart post - the first sticky post in the impleme is section of the forum.

In general, if you are using a mid Tach Matic and a mule drive on your tractor decks from around 1970 and newer will fit.

42" decks come in side discharge and rear discharge.  I have one of each.  I think that the rear discharge gives a bit better cut, but when cutting heavy grass tends to leave a slight windrow.  The side discharge does not leave windows - but tends to throw sticks and rocks farther.

@markseven  another  thing  you should consider  , is the  collective lack of maintenance  on a for sale deck , they did not  stop using it because they did not use it , seen a lot of decks  that  were literally  frozen with   rusty  bearings , collective rot .  done over a number of them , went on to be solidly  quiet / reliable , the disassembly of a deck , lets you build in total  opposite of what was there. often refer to mule  drive belt   turning over deck  spindle assembly , by hand . EVERY  RELATED BEARING  , was cleaned out and  re greased with  hi stress , temp , lubrication , never had a related failure . also found that  to be  relatively easy  , in that  rebuild phase . none of my belts , are frayed , from belt bounce / hang up , caused by lubrication failure , incrementally  stopping rotation , the more belt bounce you have , the more  related bearings have failed . also deck start up is smooth / quiet / easy . combine that with a lubrication / sun soak , and your decks will  live on . pete

Depends on the age of your tractor.  Early Chargers did not have a mule drive they used an arch bar side mount system... (Not one of WH best designs).  post a picture of yo tractor so we can give better guidance.
