moe1965 773 #1 Posted yesterday at 03:49 PM Just wondering why are there four choices to angle a dozer blade. I suspect it has something to do with how aggressive you want your cutting edge to be for what ever you are pushing.
8ntruck 8,519 #2 Posted yesterday at 03:58 PM Yup. The closer to vertical the cutting edge is, the less aggressive it gets. Won't dig in at all if it is leaning forward.
SylvanLakeWH 30,248 #3 Posted yesterday at 04:02 PM I plow three flat concrete drives, but one has a few elevated joints. I keep the blade top leaning slightly forward so that it doesn't catch the lip on those joints giving me and the tractor a jolt... yes it reduces cutting action, but 9/10 times i don't need it...
ri702bill 11,032 #4 Posted yesterday at 04:06 PM Are we talking side angling or tilt of the moldboard from vertical??
ebinmaine 76,699 #5 Posted yesterday at 04:16 PM Trina and I only ever use the middle two settings. The super scooper I've been messing around with for a few weeks is set at the second one down. All of our other plows are set in the third hole down which gives the plow a much more talk forward set. We find that this greatly reduces the amount of unwanted digging into the driveway surface and has the added bonus of helping the snow roll to the sides of the plow quite a lot better. 2

moe1965 773 #7 Posted yesterday at 07:36 PM (edited) Yes tilt of vertical ill try a different set of holes that ebinmaine talked about.to help with the snow role to the side. Seams like I get a full blade with no role off or very little. Blade is slick and not full.of rust etc. I usually take all the snow to one edge of my driveway with the 854 which is a beast. That 8 hp impresses me. Then I fire up the c141 with a snow blower on it and chuck it into the yard. That way I have double the fun 😁 😂 Edited yesterday at 07:46 PM by moe1965
peter lena 9,658 #8 Posted 6 hours ago @moe1965 put this on my plow blade , the snow slide off is ridiculous , barely loads the blade and its gone , we all have different set ups , have to adapt for your set up , ex always plow to the , SUN AREA ? let the sun shrink it down , enhance drainage , its never a one and done . ready for the week end , plow fest . pete
